This picture presents a comparison between far-infrared water lines from two famous molecular spectroscopy databases: HITRAN and JPL. Both use different formats and intensity units. But the extraction through the VAMDC portal using the same output format (here the HITRAN format) allows a quick and easy comparison of the data. In this case, we can see differences for small lines (in the insert) between the two databases, for both the included lines and absorption intensity values. Through such data comparison possibilities, the VAMDC portal can help users for their data choices.
