The VAMDC e-infrastructure and the VAMDC Consortium have been initially created through 2 EU funded projects : VAMDC Grant (2009-2012) and SUP VAMDC Grant (2012-2014).

Since 2014 the VAMDC e-infrastructure is sustained by its members who maintain and update the different components of the infrastructure and who ensure the monitoring and the support to producers and users of the infrastructure.
