The VAMDC NodeSoftware is used to provide atomic and/or molecular data as a node within the VAMDC infrastructure, thereby providing access to the data in accord with the VAMDC standards.

Creation of a separate implementation of the VAMDC-TAP node software in Java pursuied several goals:

• Multiple implementations insure that standards are complete and contain no implementation-specific elements
• Give end-users a choice of the implementation language
• Architectural design of the XML generator based on the schema rather than on a non-hierarchical keywords dictionary
